Officers

  Officers of the Association are:

President
Vice-President
Secretary General
Deputy Secretary General

The functions of the president shall be:
        To preside at meetings if the Executive Committee and at sessions of the General Assembly of Representatives;
        To act on behalf of the Association in the conduct of the Association affairs.

The functions of the Vice-President shall be to assume the duties of the President in case the President is unavailable.

The functions of the Secretary General shall be:
        Administer the central office of the Association.
        To maintain the records of the Association.
        To print and distribute publications of the Association
        To keep in trust the money contributed to the Association and to provide an annual accounting of the Association funds;
        To receive the invitations for world conference location and the invitation from the National Organization of Earthquake Engineering of other countries.
        To arrange the minutes of the session of the General Assembly of Representatives.

The functions of the Deputy Secretary General shall be to assume the duties of the Secretary General in case the President in unavailable.

Honorary Members shall be selected on the basis of their distirguished service to earthquake engineering:

The Executive Committee shall nominate Honorary Members, to be confirmed by the General Assembly of Representatives.

There shall be no dues nor assessments to member organizations of the Association.Operating expenses of the office of the Association shall be met by the earthquake engineering community in which the office is located.

The forgoing shall not preclude any member organization from voluntarily contributing to the funds of the Association or to the Organization expenses of a national Conference.

Adoption of any amendment to the statutes shall require two-thirds affirmative vote of the representatives present at the session of the General Assembly of Representative.
